Interesting Tidbits: The filly, affectionately named "Moonbeam" by visitors, and her dam, N2BHS-CKP "Moonshadow", were injured in a motor vehicle accident sometime in early July of 2021. Her dam succumbed to her injuries on July 6, leaving little Moonbeam to fend for herself. It was decided by the park that it would be best for Moonbeam to be transferred to Chincoteague, VA to receive veterinary care. So, on July 12, 2021, that's where Moonbeam's next chapter began. The original plan was to nurse the filly back to health and keep her as part of the wild herd in VA owned by the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department. She was to be released with the other ponies at the carnival grounds after the spring round up. However, in March of 2022, just before the round up, Moonbeam was deemed unfit to survive in the wild and was graciously taken in by Tipson Myers of Stoney Creek Chincoteagues in PA where she is thriving and able to live out the rest of her days. Thank you, Tipson, for all that you do!
