Following the tragic death of his mother, Susi Solé, Wesley was still too young to safely make it through the winter without her. He was transferred to the care of the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company and named Wesley Bloxom Stallion, with the nickname “Old Dad,” in honor of lifetime Saltwater Cowboy and former Pony Committee Chairman Wesley Bloxom. Wesley will spend his first winter with other young foals at the Chincoteague Carnival Grounds before being released into the Virginia herd in the spring.
