Interesting tidbits: Carol’s Girl did not respond to the PZP contraceptive vaccine – she foaled nine times in spite of annual contraceptive treatments beginning in 1996. Carol’s Girl is unique in producing nine healthy foals. Her tenth pregnancy (at 18 years of age) added another foal that, although the filly appeared healthy, died at 2.5 weeks of unknown causes. Carol’s Girl and many of her offspring were found within the developed area year round.
