Place your vote to give N2BHS-JQV a name!  THERE ARE 5 NAME CHOICES. CLICK ON THE DOWN ARROW TO SEE ALL 5 CHOICES, HIGHLIGHT YOUR CHOICE, AND ADD IT TO YOUR CART.

We're putting N2BHS-JQV's name to a vote.  The Assateague Community submitted name suggestions for this chestnut filly born in late April 2023 to dam N2BHS-JQ "Josie Rue".  The probable sire is M6MS-G "Chestnut".  This filly is living with her birth band on the North End of Assateague Island National Seashore.

We are grateful to the Assateague Community who submitted name suggestions for both foals and present the following five most popular suggestions (in alphabetical order) for voting.  All names have been vetted and approved by NPS staff.  Voting will end on February 21, 2023 at 11:59pm.

1. Amaya
2. Electra
3. Fenwood
4. Gussie
5. Olive By The Bay

Vote by selecting your name choice from the dropdown menu and add the number of votes to your cart. Each vote is a $2 donation. You can vote more than once and we’ve added a discount this year for multiple votes ($2/vote or $5/3 votes) For example, if you like the name “Little Biscuit” and want to vote for “Little Biscuit” 6 times, than purchase 6 “Little Biscuits”, for a total of $10. It is your choice on which name to vote for, and how many votes you want to purchase. The name with the most votes will determine the name of the foal.

We are happy to provide this opportunity for the community to come together and choose a name for this Assateague filly, but no one person will hold the naming rights to this foal regardless of who suggested the winning name. Funds generated through foal naming fundraisers supports AIA's mission to promote the awareness, education, and stewardship of Assateague Island National Seashore's natural resources for the enjoyment of current and future generations.
